"the social media trap"
Emma is a high school student who loves spending time on social media. She has a smartphone that's always in her hand, and she can't resist the urge to check her notifications every few minutes. Her grades have been slipping, but she tells herself that she'll catch up eventually.
One day, Emma's best friend, Jessica, asks her to join a study group for their upcoming mid-term exams. Emma declines, citing a need to catch up on her favorite shows on Netflix. Jessica warns her that the exams are tough, and they need to start preparing now. Emma brushes off the warning and goes back to scrolling through Instagram.
As the mid-term exams approach, Emma realizes that she hasn't studied at all. She starts to panic and tries to cram all the information into her head the night before the exams. The next day, she barely manages to finish the exams on time, and she knows she hasn't done well.
Emma's grades suffer, and her parents are disappointed. They ground her and take away her smartphone, which makes her feel even more isolated. Emma realizes that she's been trapped by the lure of social media and the need for instant gratification. She decides to join Jessica's study group for the final exams, and together they manage to improve their grades.
The story ends with Emma realizing that there's a time and place for social media, but it shouldn't take priority over her studies and her future. She learns to balance her time and priorities and becomes a more successful and confident student.
